Time for your self
May 11th, 2012 by Sarah Maliphant
Short holiday, long lasting results
Make this offer yours to save at least £200 and refresh your self in the beautiful Brecon Beacons
When was the last time you took time out to recharge your batteries? Busy job, busy parenting, busy life, concerns about finances, relationships, where next… it can all build up sometimes leaving you feeling like you’re stuck on a treadmill. Everything takes a little longer or feels a little harder when we’re running on depleted mental and physical energy: It’s not so much fun.
If that rings true for you, you’re probably already saying to yourself, “I need a break, just need to get away!” – but somehow, things happen, stuff needs doing, people need you… and any time you set aside for yourself gets bumped further down your personal to do list.
OK, so there’s a bit of a Catch-22. You want to give to your job, those you care about… but you’re reducing how much you’ve got to give by missing out on time that tops you up.
Sound Familiar?
So how do you slow the pace of life down for a while, take stock, replenish your energy levels and restore what makes you tick?
You go looking for:
- An environment that helps you come back to life, reconnect with what matters to you
- Space that helps you take your foot off the accelerator, free wheel and come to rest at your own pace
- Time without responsibilities, where everything is provided to you, no decisions to make
- Skilled, supportive thinking space to help you untangle your thoughts, discover new options, get out of any ruts
- A chance to step back, get some perspective so that you can get any problems in proportion
- And some good old fashioned comforts – log fires, home cooked meals, massage or reflexology, listening, conversation that’s about you and what you’re interested in, and CAKE
Seeking these nurturing elements in the thick of daily life, in your normal can be a real stretch. All the triggers for busy-ness and habitual stresses are still there.
So if you really want to recharge in full, getting away to some place peaceful is a wise first step.
Add a little bit of professional, caring nurture in those peaceful surroundings, and you’ve got a sporting chance of recovering your balance and finding any problems easier to address. Then you return to life, clearer about what you’re about and what you’re going to do, better equipped to handle it, and supported on route.
Only you know what you really want and what your priorities are, it’s your life to navigate, but you don’t have to figure out the route on your own.
You have a choice to make! Do you want to do something to help you feel refreshed, relaxed, more capable?

My name’s Sarah Maliphant and I’ve spent the last eight years helping people regain control, slow down the pace of life, get perspective and replenish their energy.
With sixteen years of business insights and personnel development from a successful corporate career, and eight years running down to earth, outdoor-based leadership and personal development, I have worked with hundreds of people experiencing degrees of burn out. Many were suffering unnecessarily, under the stoical assumption that their only option was to soldier on.
Stoicism is valuable as one of your options… and there are many additional options to discover as well, when you give yourself space and support to do so. So in 2009 I launched More to… aiming to bring the most popular, well used, life-enabling elements of all that I know to a wider audience, at an attainable price, with plentiful humour, calm and cake.
I help busy people make the space to recharge their batteries, realign their focus and relax – because when you have enough energy and you know you’re on track, a lot of anxieties dissipate naturally.
I’ve never known a place have such a profound effect on me before. The farm is magical. But a building and great views alone can’t do that. You create something special and magical there. I feel a sense of great calm with you. Your open, free-spirited nature is wonderful, and you bring it to life – Keily Geary, Winchester
Recharge, Refocus, Relax in the beautiful Brecon Beacons
If you would like to ensure there’s more to your time off than a brief bit of respite, you can try out a mountain retreat and enjoy exceptional value at the same time. Remember, my aim is to bring the most popular, well used, life-enabling elements of all that I know to a wider audience, at an attainable price, with plentiful humour, calm and cake. You make the commitment to give yourself a few days off, I’ll match you with an exceptional combination of healthy meals, walks, coaching, massage & reflexology treatments and support.
Nature and time have created something majestic about the space in and around you, but you create the intangible brilliance that is difficult to describe, without fuss and seemingly without effort that allows your guests to enjoy a level of relaxation they likely didn’t know existed – Bruce Duckett, Restaurant Proprietor, London
The venue is a significant part of this restful retreat. Our retreats take place at Castle Farm in Capel-y-ffin, on the eastern most edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Castle Farm lies in the peaceful Ewyas valley, which has a long history of attracting those seeking a restorative, inspiring environment. From monks at Llanthony Priory and Capel-y-ffin Monastery to artists and authors like Bruce Chatwin, this valley is a true source of calm. What’s more, it is only a 3 hour drive from London, even less from Birmingham, but it feels a million miles away. Surrounded by the stunning Black Mountains and absolutely nothing else, there are views dawn till dusk, walks from the back door and gentle ambles around the farm.
But it’s not just the farm. There’s a particular vibe here, a gentle ease to the days, freedom from decisions.
This is a magical place! If fulfils its promise to relax, recharge and refocus, and delivers so much more. Engaging company, warmth, friendship, fab food, love, care and attention. Many thanks to Sarah, Laura and Joyce for making my second stay here as memorable as the first! Julie Biggs, Taunton
