Pampering at Castle Farm
Apr 21st, 2011 by Sarah Maliphant
A stunning walk of just the right length, plenty of fresh air, bit of cake and your dinner is being cooked for you …. does it get any better?
Well, if you can handle it, you could add a little bit of pampering in the late afternoon. We have a couple of lovely local therapists we work with that come over to the farm to provide massage and reflexology.
Karen Bowen is a health and beauty therapist based in over the hill in Longtown. She provides full body Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Indian head massage and Reflexology, and can also offer beauty treatments by prior arrangement.
Sharon Freeland provides Reflexology and Allergy testing from her base in Craswall and practice in Abergavenny. Positive benefits of Reflexology include improved sleep patterns, increased energy levels and reduction in stress levels – all rather a good fit for the farm! If you’ve never had reflexology before, I’d heartily recommend it. Many people have concerns about being ticklish but it’s much more relaxing than that.
Both Sharon and Karen get rave reviews from our guests every time, and spaced out people drift out from their pampering session, often following it with a little snooze.
We also sometimes have a resident professional masseuse or reflexologist with us, like Sarah Pluves . Sarah offers Bowen Technique, Reflexology, and Reiki, all designed to balance mind, body and spirit. Haven’t heard of Bowen Technique? Join the club! It’s a very different form of gentle release massage, short gentle movements with space in between for your body to catch on to what’s just happened. I tried it out for the first time and was stunned with the results. Felt mega relaxing, it clearly had a visible effect as everyone commented on my relaxed look, and therapeutic too.
A one hour massage or reflexology session is included within the cost of your break, so you just sign yourself up for one of the slots when you get there. You’ll get details of the therapists and ologists that will be available in your joining instructions.
If you are a professional therapist and would like to know more about weekends or full weeks at the farm as a therapist, contact me to find out more.
