Bertie’s Page
Jun 13th, 2011 by Sarah Maliphant
Hello, I’m Bertie and I live at the farm. I’ve been there for years, including when it was a youth hostel – it’s my home and I love it lots.
More about my story another time, for now here’s a few photos of my lovely life here. I like to include quite a few naps in each day, as well as good deal of gazing at the lovely views, as you’ll see.
I work at the farm – mostly purring, napping and helping guests feel well loved. I have my own rooms, and love being outdoors so don’t worry if you’re not a cat fan, I’m discretely available to those that want company.
I’ve also added some photos of my little penpal, Bertie Junior. Junior was born on a Devon farm just south of Exmoor and I first met her when she was 3 months old. She helps me with the hosting for our mountain retreats, specialising in cuddles, pouncing and playtimes. We are best of friends, and she is very good, although I do sometimes remind her that occupancy of my favourite chair is important to me.
Bertie Junior lives elsewhere most of the time, and joins me at the farm for the weeks when we are running a Retreat. I am training her up and she is doing very well indeed! Meanwhile, she manages the manager and writes a bit when she’s not chasing ping pong balls. Bertie Junior is of course named after me, which I am very proud of.
