Castle Farm

Recharge, Refocus, Relax …

We all need a breather sometimes, and that’s what our mountain retreats are all about.

I had a lovely weekend – breathtaking scenery and inspiring company – thank you very much for organizing it so thoughtfully.

Castle Farm sits in a beautifully peaceful valley on the eastern most edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, 20 minutes from the beautiful book haven of Hay-on-Wye and about half an hour north of Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Nestled snuggly in the beautiful Black Mountains and looking out at the Offa’s Dyke footpath, this quiet farmhouse provides an idyllic chance to get away from it all and truly relax. You can take a little virtual visit there right now….

‘Me’ Time

Take the best bits of a health spa (like massage and reflexology without needing to drive anywhere afterwards, just nod off or chill out).

Add a bit of rustic luxury (like huuuuuuuge double beds in a picture perfect cosy farmhouse with toasty Aga and massive fireplace). It’s beautiful and comfortably informal – space to lounge about, drink mugs of tea and put your feet up…..

Add mouth watering meals and home baked cakes that just fit the mood perfectly, and you don’t need to do a thing – except enjoy them.

Time to breathe

Add the best bits of the mountains (huge stunning views, peace and quiet, and gorgeous walks right on your doorstep)…

Then add an experienced, relaxed guide to lead you safely and comfortably to the most scenic areas and add a touch of inspiration to any walk.

Great conversation
Castle Farm works well for people holidaying on their own, for couples and for friends too. Spaces are limited to a maximum of 12 guests – simply because that makes it easy for people to settle in, and gives us more space on the hills (peace, serenity and a group of 25 doesn’t quite happen!) The three coaches, one of which is Sarah, are part of the group throughout, and they’re great at making conversation easy, and leaving you space for your own thoughts when that’s what you want.

It was a perfect climate where I certainly felt able to move in and out of conversation with different people with an ease I don’t think I’ve ever experienced.

Space to think
Add unique access to professional coaches who will listen, support, and provide easy ways into conversation; They’ll help you get clear, find solutions, refocus, get “unstuck”, start moving towards what you want.

I really enjoyed myself and had a bit of an self-revelation that has moved me on leaps and bounds

Feel looked after
All of this adds up to one important thing for you: you can relax and focus on your own needs. Whether you’re slowing yourself down from a busy job, taking a break from caring for someone else or giving yourself some space to take stock of where you’re at, you will be well looked after at Castle Farm. Don’t take our word for it though, hear it in our guests own words!

After a bit of photography and camcorder usageduring our lovely week in April, you can now take a little look at the views around the farm for yourself with our first little video (aided by Bertie the cat)…If you haven’t already seen it, it gives you a good feel for the place.

And you can also see some of the highlights from our retreats over the last 3 years – Beautiful Black Mountains

I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent at Castle Farm, yet again! Good company, good food and some time to reflect & set some intentions.

Enjoy yourself

There’s nothing you have to do at Castle Farm. Everything’s there for you if you want, and the lovely views, peace and quiet and meals are there to use as you wish. There’s books to dip into, rum baked bananas to be enjoyed and of course, the now legendary melted chocolate banana sauce.

It was such a wonderful break, I’m still smiling – JH, St Albans

Finally a big thank you for making it all so…. well…..darn easy – LC, Bath

Add all that up – accomodation with full board, massage, coaching, guided walks – and you could easily estimate a cost of more than £200 per day.

Happily, you can halve that – here’s our 2013 dates and prices to reserve yourself a bit of space to breathe.

THANK YOU!! For a wonderful weekend in paradise! The people, place, walks, scenery, food and of course you were a most welcome break. I am at present raving to everyone about my weekend and will hope to return there again soon!!

If you appreciate the outdoors and like a bit or pampering too, you can treat yourself to both at Castle Farm. More details about massage, walking and coaching will be up here very soon, in the meantime, check out the food at Castle Farm or some pictures of what you’ll see and there’s some frequently asked questions FAQ too.

There’s weekend and full week breaks from March through to November each year, and every season brings its own beautiful character.

We have six beautiful, spacious rooms, all with huge double beds and available for single or double occupancy.

I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in tune once more – John Burroughs
